Dog Agility Class Registration can only be done through the John A. Logan College - Continuing Education at Pet Care. Information should be up soon on their web site. http://www.jalc.edu/cont_ed/ (classes, pet care)

 

** New Class **

Dog Agility Training Beginner (Level 1)

Beginner Dog Agility - is required to go to next level

Requirement – Some prior obedience training and control of your dog, Dog must be 10 months or older, have a reliable recall, sit and stay (even if only for a few seconds.). Liability release req. to be signed before training. First meeting with dog. Shot records due first class.

Level 1 Introduces the handling basics, and agility equipment introduction.

Bring dog, toys, treats, water bowl water for both of you and clean up bags for your dogs. COM fee payable to instructor first night of class.

 

Sessions: 8, Fee: $40, COM: $70.00 (Max 12 per class)

 

Location: Southern IL. Equestrian Center – 13266 Old Frankfort Rd.,Marion, IL

Two beginner times available -

Meets Wednesday beginning Sept 8th   5:00 pm - 5:45 pm 

Meets Wednesday beginning Sept 8th   6:00 pm - 6:45 pm

Dog Agility Beginner (Level 2) – 

Requirement – Beginner Level 1 or equivalent experience and control of your dog & have instructor approval to move to Level 2. Dogs must be 1 yr or older, have a reliable recall, sit and stay (even if only for a few seconds.). Level 2 will continue to work towards proper management of agility equipment for both the handler and dog with the goal to achieve accuracy with speed. More advanced handling techniques will be introduced.

Liability release req. to be signed before training. First class is with dog. Shot records due first class.

Requirement - Beginner Level 2 or equivalent experience and control of your dog & have instructor approval to move to Level 3. Dogs must have prior agility training and proficient on all obstacles. Your dog must have a reliable recall Liability release req. to be signed before training. First class is with dog. Shot records due first class. Dog Obedience (for Home) Beginner Level 1 –

 

Min. age 4 months. First meeting no dog. Shot records due first class. Commands of sit, heel, down, come and stay will be covered, along with show obedience rules, home obedience by providing instructions and demos.

 

Your dog will have the chance to learn to walk on a loose leash, pay attention to you, and wait in a sit position to be fed and other important areas. Positive training techniques encouraged.

A Training lead and clicker will be provided.

 

Location: Marion Williamson County Armory, behind the airport on Redco Drive

Sessions: 10, Tuition & Fee check JALC Web site for amounts

COM fee payable to instructor first night of class.

COM: $10.00 Max. 18 Students

 

Three beginner times available -

Meets Tuesday beginning   Sept 7th - 4:30 – 5:50 pm   

 

Meets Tuesday beginning   Sept 7th- 6:00 – 7:20 pm      

 

Meets Tuesday beginning   Sept 7th- 7:30 – 8:50 pm

Dog Obedience (Intermediate) Level 2 – 

Requirement - Prior obedience training. First meeting with dog. Shot records due first class.

Commands of sit, heel, down, come and stay reviewed along with preparing the handler and dog for showing in Obedience, Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test preparation and Intro. to Rally and

Dog Agility. Positive training methods encouraged.

 Max. 18 Students
